About PhotoScan
PhotoScan is a photography tool from Google LLC that turns printed pictures into digital copies using nothing more than your device camera. It ships as a single installable package, com.google.android.apps.photos.scanner, and is aimed at anyone with drawers of paper snapshots worth preserving. What the app is built to handle At its core, PhotoScan is about capturing physical photographs and converting them into image files you can keep on your device. Instead of simply snapping a picture of a print, the app is structured around a dedicated scanning flow for paper photos, keeping the workflow focused on one task rather than mixing it with broader editing features. Device and storage requirements The build requires Android 5.0 or newer, so handsets and tablets running the required version or newer releases can install it. The download occupies 32.3 MB, a modest footprint that leaves plenty of room for the resulting scans to accumulate as your collection grows. Version and release information The current build is 1.7.1.539739820, dated 2023-07-24. If you are tracking releases, that identifier is the one to compare against, and updating to it ensures you are running the latest package published by the developer. Publisher and listing details PhotoScan sits in the photography category and comes from Google LLC, a developer with a long history of camera and gallery software.
