About Minecraft Education Preview
Minecraft Education Preview is an education-focused edition of the familiar block-building game, released by Mojang under the package com.mojang.minecraftedu_preview. It sits in the education category, aiming the sandbox experience at learning environments rather than pure recreation. This listing describes the current preview build and what you need to run it.
What the preview edition covers The preview label signals that this is an in-progress cut of the educational product rather than a finished release. It lets teachers, students and curious players sample the classroom-oriented direction of the game while development continues. Because it is a preview, the experience may shift between builds as functionality is refined and expanded.
Space you should set aside The download is substantial, weighing in at 1015.3 MB. Before installing, make sure your device has that amount of room to spare plus a comfortable margin for the package to unpack. Devices that are already close to their storage limit may struggle, so freeing up space first is the practical approach.
Release information This page reflects version 1.26.30.0, published on 2026-07-07. If you already have an earlier copy of the package installed, this build represents the latest revision recorded for the app. Checking your installed version against 1.26.30.0 tells you whether you are up to date.
Running it on your device The build requires Android 8.0 or newer. Devices running that version or any newer release should be able to install and launch the package. The listing does not provide a content rating, so families and schools may want to review the game themselves before handing it to younger learners.
