About Microsoft Whiteboard
Microsoft Whiteboard is a productivity app from Microsoft Corporation that turns the screen of your phone or tablet into an open canvas for sketching, jotting notes and shaping ideas on the go. It is delivered under the package name com.microsoft.whiteboard.publicpreview, identifying it as a public preview build of the company's shared whiteboard experience.
A Digital Canvas For Freeform Work The app centres on a blank, expandable surface where you can draw, write and arrange thoughts without the structure of a traditional document. Ideas can be laid out side by side, rearranged and revisited whenever a thought returns, which suits brainstorming sessions, quick diagrams and personal planning alike. Because the canvas is the whole interface, there is very little chrome to learn before you start putting marks on the screen.
Its Place In The Productivity Category Falling squarely under productivity, Microsoft Whiteboard complements apps built around lists, calendars and files. Rather than capturing a task in words, it lets you capture the shape of an idea, which is often more useful during the early, messy stage of a project. Coming from Microsoft Corporation, it also sits alongside a broader family of work tools that many people already use day to day.
Version And Release Details The build listed here is version 1.301.0.26042704, published on 2026-05-05. Anyone tracking updates can use that version string to confirm exactly which revision is installed, since the preview designation means the app may still evolve between releases.
Device And Storage Requirements The install occupies 14.9 MB of storage, making it a lightweight addition even on devices with limited free space. The build requires Android 8.1+ or newer; owners of more recent handsets will find it runs without any extra configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Android version does this build need to run?
The build requires Android 8.1+ or newer. If your phone or tablet is running an earlier release, the app will not be installable on it, so check your system version first in the device settings. Anyone on a device launched more recently should already satisfy the requirement, since newer devices ship with a much more recent platform version.
How much storage space should I set aside for the app?
The file size for this release is 14.9 MB, so you need only a modest amount of free space for the download and the installed files. That is small compared with most media or design apps, which means it should install comfortably even on a device that is already fairly full, provided there is a little spare room left over.
Exactly which version does this listing provide?
This listing provides version 1.301.0.26042704, released on 2026-05-05. The version string is the reliable way to confirm which revision you have after installing, which is particularly useful for a preview build that may be updated regularly. If the installed number matches this one, you have the exact release described on this page.
What is the package name of the application?
The package name is com.microsoft.whiteboard.publicpreview. This identifier is what the system uses to recognise the app, so it is the value to look for when checking whether the app is already present on a device, when comparing installations, or when looking for the app in a list of installed packages. The public preview segment of the name signals the app's preview status.
Is a content rating listed for this app?
No content rating is provided for this release; the rating is recorded as unknown on this listing. That means no age guidance has been published here, so anyone deciding whether the app suits a younger user should judge it on its nature as a productivity and drawing tool from Microsoft Corporation rather than on an assigned rating band.
