About Microsoft Edge Dev
Microsoft Edge Dev is the development channel of Microsoft's Edge browser for Android, published by Microsoft Corporation under the package name com.microsoft.emmx.dev. It is built for people who want to follow the browser's direction before it settles into its mainstream form. The app is listed in the communication category.
What this development build offers As a Dev channel release, this build is aimed at testers and curious users who want to see the browser evolve between major milestones. It carries the familiar Edge experience of opening pages and reaching web destinations, packaged in a build that is expected to move more often than a final, frozen release. Anyone wanting a predictable, unchanging tool may prefer something else.
Release details for the current build The current release is version 155.0.4283.25, dated 2026-09-30. That string identifies exactly which build is on offer, which matters when you compare it with another build or describe a problem. The listing does not publish a content rating, so there is no published rating to consult when deciding whether the app suits a shared or family device.
Device and storage expectations The build requires Android 10.0 or newer. The package occupies 246.2 MB, so a meaningful amount of free storage should be confirmed before installation begins. Devices running system software older than the required version cannot install it, while newer devices satisfy the requirement.
Where it sits in the communication category Grouped under communication, the app is placed alongside tools that move information and connect people. A browser fills that role by reaching web-based mail, chat and social destinations from a single place, so links and conversations can be handled without leaving the app. The classification reflects that everyday connected use rather than one narrow, specialist function.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Android version does this build need?
The build requires Android 10.0 or newer. Devices running an earlier system release will not be able to install it, while devices on newer releases satisfy the stated requirement. If you are unsure of your device's system version, check it in the device settings before beginning the installation.
How much free storage should I have available?
The package occupies 246.2 MB, so at least that much free space should be available before you install. Temporary room during installation may also be needed, so clearing extra space in advance avoids an interrupted setup. Devices that are already close to full capacity are the most likely to run into trouble.
Which version is included in this listing?
The current release is version 155.0.4283.25, dated 2026-09-30. Use that version string to confirm which build you have installed and to compare it against any other build you may be reading about. Keeping track of the exact version makes it easier to describe the build you are running.
Who publishes this app and what is it?
The app is published by Microsoft Corporation under the package name com.microsoft.emmx.dev. It is the development channel of the Edge browser for Android and sits in the communication category, where browsers and messaging-related tools are grouped. The Dev channel designation indicates it is a development build rather than a final, frozen release.
Does the listing show a content rating?
The content rating for this app is listed as unknown, so no published rating appears on this listing. If you are deciding whether the app suits a shared or family device, that rating information is simply not available here, and you would need to judge suitability from the app's own description and settings instead.
