About Film Camera - Vintage Camera
Film Camera - Vintage Camera is a photography app from developer Gao Ming that brings a classic film-style shooting experience to your phone. The current release is version 2.6, delivered as a single package of 43.8 MB. It is aimed at people who want their everyday snapshots to feel less clinical and more nostalgic.
The Vintage Shooting Idea Behind The App
As its name suggests, the app is built around the idea of a film camera rather than a plain point-and-shoot interface. Instead of treating the phone as a purely technical tool, it frames photo taking as a stylistic choice, letting you shoot with the mood and character associated with older cameras. It belongs squarely to the photography category and is designed for capturing images on the go.
Where It Sits In Photography Apps
Within the photography category, this app competes with tools that focus on the look of a photograph as much as the mechanics of taking one. Its appeal is for users who already enjoy experimenting with different ways of shooting and who want a dedicated vintage-flavoured option alongside whatever camera app their device already provides. It is a focused, single-purpose tool rather than a broad editing suite.
Space And Device Compatibility
The build requires Android 7.0+. Installation needs 43.8 MB of storage, so it is worth confirming you have room before starting the download, and newer devices will run it without issue. Being a modest-sized package, it should not place heavy demands on your device compared with much larger photography applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I identify the correct app when installing?
The application is published under the package name com.filocam.camera by developer Gao Ming, and it is titled Film Camera - Vintage Camera. The latest available build is version 2.6, released on 2026-07-22. Checking the package name and version together is the surest way to confirm you are installing the intended application rather than a similarly named one.
Will the app run on my device?
The build requires Android 7.0+, so devices meeting that requirement or running something newer should be able to install and use it. The download is a single package of 43.8 MB, which is a relatively light footprint for a photography app and should not put unusual strain on recent hardware.
How much storage should I free up first?
The application package itself is 43.8 MB, so plan for at least that much free space plus a margin for the system to unpack and install it. Photographs you capture with the app will take additional space of their own, so leaving a comfortable buffer beyond the installation size is sensible if you expect to shoot often.
