About AnkiDroid
AnkiDroid is an education app from the AnkiDroid Open Source Team, built for people who want to commit material to memory through steady, repeated review. It runs on phones and tablets, and it keeps your study sessions portable so you can fit practice into whatever gaps your day allows.
What AnkiDroid is designed for The app belongs to the education category and centres on helping you work through study material a little at a time, returning to it often enough that it sticks. Whether you are learning vocabulary, preparing for an exam, or drilling facts for a hobby, the focus stays on regular, self-paced practice rather than long cramming sessions.
Current version and release This listing covers release 2.24.0, published on 2026-10-06. It is the latest build offered by the developer, and it is the version you receive when you install from this page. Older builds may still be available elsewhere, but they will not carry whatever refinements were folded into this particular release.
Install footprint and device support The package com.ichi2.anki occupies 37.1 MB of storage, so it fits comfortably alongside your other apps without demanding unusually large free space. The build requires Android 7.0 or newer, and newer devices will run it as long as they meet or exceed that baseline.
Who maintains the app Development is handled openly by the AnkiDroid Open Source Team rather than a single commercial publisher. That collective stewardship is why the app carries no content rating in this listing and why its identity, package name and update cadence are tied directly to the project's team.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need installed before I can use AnkiDroid?
You need a device running the required operating system level: the build requires Android 7.0 or newer. Devices on a newer version of Android will also work, since they exceed the stated baseline. If your phone or tablet is below that requirement, the app will not install correctly, so check your device's software version before starting the install.
How much space should I free up for this app?
The package com.ichi2.anki takes up 37.1 MB. Reserve at least that much free storage before installing, and a little extra on top for the app to write its working files. On most modern devices this is a modest footprint that sits well within normal available space, but it is worth confirming on devices with limited internal memory.
Which release will I get from this listing?
The version offered here is 2.24.0, released on 2026-10-06. That is the latest build published by the AnkiDroid Open Source Team, so installing from this page gives you that exact version rather than an earlier one. If you are comparing against an existing installation, check the version number in your device's app information to confirm they match.
Who develops AnkiDroid and what kind of app is it?
It is produced by the AnkiDroid Open Source Team and sits in the education category. Rather than being published under a commercial brand, the app is maintained collectively by that team, which also explains why no content rating is supplied for this listing. Its purpose is straightforward: give learners a portable way to review study material repeatedly over time.
Is the content rating for this app listed?
No rating is provided for this listing, so the content rating field is shown as unknown. That means the page gives no age classification to report, rather than indicating that the app has been assessed and found unsuitable. Anyone deciding on installation for a younger user should judge suitability from the app's education focus and its own description of what it does.
